We are pleased to offer a 6 Month Internship starting in or about July 2017 at BMW of North America, LLC.

6 Month Internship BMW NA - IT Software Engineer

The position will work with the solution architect to participate in the development of new backend services as well as improving existing application functionality. The intern will work collaboratively to assist the project leader in developing and executing IT projects in the Sales, Aftersales, Engineering, and Marketing areas. The intern will liaise between onshore and offshore technology and support teams. He or she will assist the solution architect to produce architecture diagrams to help guide on and off-shore development resources to be able to construct designed solutions and work with external vendors to ensure detailed interface specifications or other deliverables are closely followed. The intern will also gain insights into the US and the German business units and technology teams.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

* Enrolled in a Bachelors or Master's program, or have graduated no more than 12 months prior to internship start date

Preferred Requirements:

* Field of study: Computer Science or Computer Engineering
* Concentration: Information Technology, Software Design and Development
* Additional skills: Object Oriented Design and Programming Skills. Demonstrated proficiency (either through previous engagements or coursework) in developing in an OO language: Java (Preferred), Python, C++. Experience with Javascript frameworks and HTML/HTML5. Familiarity with Distributed Computing Concepts, Service Oriented Architecture, and the Agile Development Process.
* Attributes: Conscientious, responsible, ability to work independently and as a part of a team as well as motivated. Willingness to learn new as well as legacy technologies.
* English (fluent, oral and written)
* Availability of 6 months
