Description Summary

This position collaborates with and supports sales and ongoing account management of clients and prospects within the Key Accounts market segment. For designated accounts this position provides proactive service directly as well as timely resolution of service issues by coordinating with account management and operations personnel. It works in conjunction with account managers and sales staff to advise clients and prospects in areas related to wide ranges of standard or customized operational delivery, as well as consumer activation and communication strategies.


  1. Support client operational success by identifying areas of concern and managing activities including performance guarantees, claim performance, product implementations, care management and customer service.

  2. Build relationships and serves as the primary point of contact for day to day service delivery with assigned employer/group clients.

  3. Build relationships internally to represent client and coordinate with other functions to implement, complete projects, coordinate renewals, update salesforce.com and address ongoing service needs.

  4. Proactively identifies internal improvement opportunities and manage cross-functional activities.

  5. Facilitate effective client communication plans and delivery, including client collateral mailings, plan overviews, resource guides, summary plan documents and specific member mailings.

  6. Implement new clients as assigned, new products as sold, and new membership as acquired.

  7. Resolve escalated service issues including interactions with internal Blue Cross and Select Account operations staff and other customer carve out vendors.

  8. Develop approach and manage execution of customer specific projects as defined by account manager. Will include direct communication with clients regarding progress of project, and guiding project internally.

  9. Coordinate and conduct member enrollment meetings, health fairs, and wellness events for all health plan products to foster a positive image of BCBCM, and assure member understanding of their benefits.

  10. Manage the delivery of client program reporting to customers as appropriate.


  • · Bachelor's degree plus 1 year of experience with health plans or 5 years of health plan experience in lieu of a degree.

  • In depth knowledge of multiple health plan, wellness, and consumer directed product lines.

  • Ability to achieve results in the highly complex environment of large, national, employers with tight deadlines and multiple shifting priorities.

  • Strong analytical, problem identification and resolution skills.

  • Able to influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.

  • Ability to obtain (within 90 days) and/or maintain current State of Minnesota health and life insurance sales license.

  • Excellent persuasive written and verbal communication skills including formal presentations.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute healthy and positive dynamics to the work team. ·

  • Demonstrated PC skills. ·
