Job Description

We are recruiting a Procurement leader with demonstrated success building or rebuilding the procurement function into a value-added team and department, providing smooth and efficient flow of procurement services through the development and utilization of "Best-in-Class" procurement protocols from sourcing, vendor and contract management; to development of "Subject Matter Experts" across the company; to developing and managing the Procurement team and department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct, assess and supervise the activities of the Procurement team/department providing direction, guidance, structure and workflow support as necessary.
  • Manage all procurement policies, procedures, programs and contracts with a focus on their ability to provide the best possible price and service that enhances value and efficiency for the organization;
  • Lead the company's successful evaluation/transformation to a centralized procurement program that adds value and efficiency; this includes leveraging applicable technology; development and delivery of related procurement communication, training and support; meeting with stakeholders/procurement process and system users for understanding, training, coaching, guidance and program/process buy-in;
  • Identify develop and implement procurement process improvement opportunities; including the introduction and utilization KPI's, Performance Scorecards and related accountabilities;
  • Develop and execute Procurement's vision and long-range plan that aligns with the company vision and long-range plans;
  • Author, communicate, and execute a strategic procurement program including goals, objectives, policies and procedures, sourcing strategies, supplier relationships and opportunities to leverage ERP and other procurement related technology;
  • Oversee contract development and administration negotiating with vendors for good & services, leveraging the best possible price and service guarantee; review and approve sourcing plans and ordering of necessary goods and services; perform risk analytics of trends to proactively anticipate potential adverse events, implement strategies to avoid same.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain/Materials Management, Logistics or related field of study;
  • Professional certification such as C.P.M, CPSM or other affiliated certification is strongly desired;
  • 7 to 10 years of progressively responsible and demonstrated procurement, sourcing and contract services experience including supplier and internal customer relationship building and management;
  • 5+ years supervisory, department leadership, direct report/ people management experience, with the ability to attract, mentor, coach, develop, assess and retain department staff;
  • Sound leadership, effective communication and change management skills with the ability to adapt to a continually evolving business environment;
  • Strong and effective business and relational acumen with a persuasiveness style that builds relationships, creates understanding, support, alignment, consensus and confidence for procurement strategies;
  • Demonstrated teambuilding and collaboration skills, strategic thinking, tactical competence, accountability and sense of urgency for getting things done;
  • Competency with purchasing, procurement and supply chain systems;
  • LEAN, Six Sigma, Kaizen or similar principles of planning, continuous improvement and KPI development background;

Hands-on procurement project management, policy development, presentation, training and communication skills;

Prior experience leading or serving on an ERP system change integration team is helpful;

  • Strong analytical skills/cost management skills with proficiency utilizing analytical tools, MS Office, MRP/ERP systems and applicable procurement and contract management software.
