Job Description

Functions in an engineer capacity. Under close supervision, performs routine aspects of engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. Applies knowledge of engineering principles to prescribed techniques and procedures to complete project assignments. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Electrical engineer responsible for assisting with the integrated design, programming, installation, and testing of various substation integration/automation and Smart Grid projects.

Prepares basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analyses. Performs basic equipment selection research and develops recommendations with supportive materials. Responsibilities also include conceptual and detailed design creating/modifying/reviewing substation drawings, point lists, communication network design, serial point-to-point/ multi-drop communications networks, time synchronization, device configurations, and cyber security requirements/documentation.

Develops familiarity with departmental design standards, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies Maintains engineering records and lists as required. Maintains engineering records and lists as required.

Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements Minimum Qualifications No experience required. Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.

Preferred Job Qualifications The applicant must have the ability to work in a team environment to meet schedule deadlines and budget targets. Also, attention to detail with good communication, skills both written and verbal, is required.
