Overview:The Biogen Rare Disease Account team is looking to recruit proven sales achievers with at least four years of experience in pharma, specialty, hospital, and/or biotech sales.In this field based Rare Disease Account Management position, you will be called upon to work with key stakeholders in the Rare Disease community, including Pediatric Neurologists, Neuromuscular Disease Specialists, Hospital based Pharmacists, and other allied health professionals, with the goal of minimizing non-clinical barriers for our Rare Disease products.The Rare Disease Account Executive is responsible for developing plans for their business territory and executing on these plans in order to bring the greatest benefit to the greatest number of relevant families. In this role, you will convey complex clinical and reimbursement information to customers and key stakeholders so that all appropriate patients can benefit from therapy. You must be able to utilize strong interpersonal skills to establish relationships of trust that allow for directed probing to uncover the customer's needs and develop solutions within the Biogen framework that meet these needs. This position works closely with cross functional peers to ensure that the Biogen suite of services is made available as needed.

Responsibilities:Role Overview: Rare Disease Account ExecutiveTerritory: Southern New England-Drive patient identification and market development for Rare Disease by creating territory, account, and customer strategies to achieve area sales, market goals for their territory -Effectively maintain relationships with physicians and treatment clinics to properly educate on therapy and help remove barriers to support healthcare provider decisions-Effectively develop collaborative relationships and communicate information across many different internal/external stakeholders to drive alignment on decisions and help remove obstaclesResponsibilities include (but are not limited to):-Drive timely and appropriate patient identification and market development for rare disease by building and executing against a territory strategy and account specific plans. Continuously assesses sales opportunities within markets and accounts to maintain and grow their business. -Is able to effectively prioritize time, activities, and resources to optimize accounts with the most need.-Can educate on and promote Biogen services.-Builds and maintains relationships with health care professionals by maximizing their time through pre-call planning, leveraging insights to tailor a call plan, and conducting post call analysis to continually refine and enhance approach.-Proactively builds effective working relationships with internal/external stakeholders; can drive agreement/decisions from multiple stakeholders; can read people's emotions and flex communication style. Can adjust approach based on different stakeholder needs, concerns, or audience member to drive alignment and meet their work goals.


Qualifications:-4+ years of sales experience in the hospital/academic medical center/biotech industry. Children's hospital sales experience a plus.-High degree of learning agility to learn/understand process for a health care administered complex biologic as well as neuromuscular diseases.-Ability to navigate complex situations in a thoughtful and compliant manner.-Must have experience working on a sales team as part of a multifunctional matrix to address healthcare professional and patient/caregiver needs. -Specialty product launch experience. -Rare disease sales experience a plus.-Must be comfortable spending 50%-60% of their time traveling.-Driving is an essential duty of the job; candidates must have a valid driver's license to be considered.
