Job DescriptionThis is a global, strategic procurement position responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for multiple categories of spend that deliver value to the business by reducing risk, improving quality, and reducing costs.

• This includes managing a team of category managers and analysts that lead cross-functional teams to develop sourcing strategies, execute the sourcing process and negotiate contracts for the majority of spend in each category to meet client needs as well as corporate imperatives (eg, social responsibility, diversity, compliance, savings, etc.).

• In addition, this position is expected to build and/or sustain relationships with their respective senior management clients to ensure Sourcing is aligned with their objectives and is viewed as a trusted business advisor for all major outsourced services. This includes leading sourcing governance committees and development/execution of major sourcing strategies.

Additional responsibilities include:

* Client Engagement. Lead client engagement efforts at the senior management level (eg, sourcing councils) to ensure Sourcing is aligned with their objectives, while securing their sponsorship to meet corporate imperatives (eg, social responsibility, diversity, compliance, savings, etc.) and to assign subject-matter experts to participate in sourcing projects. Regularly solicit feedback from project-level stakeholders to ensure Sourcing is performing well and continuously improving.

* Development and execution of sourcing strategies. For major outsourcing initiatives, lead the development and execution of robust sourcing strategies that deliver breakthrough value to the organization. This includes identifying and leading cross-functional teams, developing and managing the sourcing implementation plans, and performing all business-related functions of the sourcing initiative, negotiating contracts, and transitioning to the business units for physical implementation.

* Category maintenance. This includes contract life-cycle management (eg, renewing expiring contracts, updating pricing annually, etc.), category databases (eg, refreshing internal business requirement/impact metrics, supplier capabilities database, etc.), scanning the marketplace for changes and managing any known or potential business impact and developing risk mitigation plans.

* Continuous Improvement. This includes both department/category business process improvements (eg, enhancements to the sourcing process, development or revision of key sourcing procedures, documenting processes, etc.) and personal development.

Minimum of 5 years negotiating a variety contracts, 3 years project management experience and minimum of 3 years working in a client-facing or customer service role (eg, consulting, supply chain, etc.)

Experience in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry and knowledge of R&D, Manufacturing functions and GxPs is a plus

Professional expertise in strategic sourcing and preferably category subject matter expertise

Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, Biotech/Pharma, GMP's are preferred

Ability to communicate effectively with business unit clients that the category supports (many of which are technical in nature)

Enhancement and execution of processes and procedures
and regularly contributes to development of new or enhancement of existing business process methodologies and tools
EducationBachelors Degree required, preferably in Life Sciences, Engineering, Accounting or a related field
