We are currently seeking an MBA summer intern to support our corporate strategy team, which sits within corporate development. The corporate strategy team is responsible for developing and refining Biogen's overarching and long-term strategy to ensure sustainable growth. The role(s) will be based in Cambridge, MA.

The MBA Intern will be responsible for completing project(s) that deal with strategic business issues at the corporate level. These project(s) will provide the Intern exposure to business leaders and cross-functional areas. Participants will be expected to demonstrate in-depth understanding of the critical issues, decision-making, and project management skills. The participant will be required to work independently as well as in a team environment. Assignments will be based on business needs as well as candidate experience and interest.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting the development of strategic plans, aligning strategies with key stakeholders, and working across complex matrix organizations. This role is highly cross-functional and will report to a Manager in Corporate Strategy.

Key responsibilities will vary based on the intern's project, but examples may include:

* Support processes that will help refine, the overall strategic direction of the company in the near-, mid-, and long-term
* Provide internal consulting on strategic business questions directly from the executive committee

oExamples include emerging markets, competitive and pricing dynamics, digitization, AI

* Support the execution of the Long-Range Planning process
* Partner with key stakeholders to across the organization to help develop and align broad Biogen strategic plans

Qualifications

* 3-5 years in biotech, pharmaceutical, and/or consulting environments, including experience in corporate strategy or strategy consulting
* Experience supporting the development of strategies that align to company mission and vision
* Experienced, hands-on project manager adept at establishing processes, creatively solving problems, facilitating cross functional teams, and managing through significant ambiguity and complexity
* Exceptional strategic thinker and thought leader, with strong leadership, collaboration and influence skills
* Forward thinker willing to respectfully challenge the norm
* Highly motivated, resourceful, results-oriented individual
* Strong leadership qualities and an ability to influence across functional lines
* Ability to work at all levels of the company, including with senior leaders
* Basic understanding of the drug development process and working knowledge of the essential

activities for all key functional areas

* Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including specifically, the skills

needed to manage difficult conversations and interactions as they arise

Education

* B.A./B.Sc. required; in related field preferred (business, science, technology)
* Enrolled in an accredited MBA Program with graduation planned for 2020
* Concentration in Marketing, General Management, and/or Healthcare Management is preferred
