Job Description:

Budget Title: Instructional Support Associate (SL-2)

Salary: $38,471 (Part time, 75% FTE, College Year)

The Department of Biological Sciences at Binghamton University is seeking candidates for a three-quarter time position as Instructional Support Technician, beginning Fall 2019. Duties include but are not limited to ordering supplies, preparing materials and cultures for laboratory courses in cell biology and immunology, providing instructional support and assistance for animal histology, and maintaining course-related equipment and preparatory facilities. Applicants must have at minimum a BS degree, excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills, and be comfortable working with a diverse group of people. Preference given to candidates with prior work experience at the college level, training or experience in cell biology, immunology, and histology, and demonstrated experience in assisting in teaching laboratory courses.

Candidates comfortable in a student-centered environment and committed to the college mission are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

* Must have a Bachelor of Science in Biology or a related field
* Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills
* Must be comfortable working with a diverse group of people

Preferred:

* Prior work experience at the college level
* Training or experience in cell biology, immunology and histology
* Demonstrated experience in assisting in teaching laboratory courses
