Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Department: College of Science
Reports to: Dean of College of Science in conjunction with the Department Chairs - Biological, Physical, Mathematical and Computational Sciences

Position Summary: Provide administrative assistance, office management support, and program support for the College of Science departments.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Provide administrative support for College of Science student outreach, alumni relations, and endowment activities

2. Manage workflow and assignment completion by coordinating schedules and vacation time with other College of Science office assistants

3. Provide departmental administrative support during summer months.

4. Provide administrative support for Pre-professional programs

5. Provide administrative support for COS graduate programs

Other Functions:

1. Website and social media content management.

2. Special Projects for Department Chairs

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: Five years, preferably in a fast-paced academic environment

Specific Skills: Strong language and communication skills, ability to learn and help others use computer programs, organizational skills, problem solving skills, prioritizing and follow through skills

Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook; general knowledge of copy machines, printers, Scan Tron grader, scanner, shredder, and facsimile machine. Knowledge of PeopleSoft

Physical Demands: Able to lift 20 lbs.

Supervisory Responsibility (if applicable): Train and supervise part-time student workers

Working Conditions: heavy traffic office conditions in an open office setting
