KBC is searching for a Design Validation Intern to join our Design Validation team for 2019.

Job Description

Located in Westminster, Maryland, Knorr Brake Company (KBC) is a manufacturer of Braking, Door, and HVAC systems for the Mass Transit Rail Industry. KBC is division of Knorr-Bremse, AG a Munich Germany based global leader in the design and manufacture of Brakes, Doors, HVAC, and on-Board OEM systems, aftermarket spare parts, overhaul & maintenance services for the Mass Transit Rail.

Major responsibilities of the position include the following:

* Assisting Design Validation personnel in the design, fabrication, and validation of System functional Test Racks. This includes the design and fabrication of mechanical and electrical components.
* Assisting Design Validation personnel in the design, fabrication, validation, and performance of component qualification/investigative tests. As experience is gained, the candidate will take over responsibility of these tasks and handle them from start to finish.
* Assist with day-to-day activities of the Design Validation Department in a wide variety of tasks across the Brakes, Doors, and HVAC business units. Use skills learned to troubleshoot and investigate issues that may arise in the lab.

Education and Experience:

* Current college student preferably studying Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and/or General Engineering
* GPA 3.0 or higher
* Willingness to do hands-on work
* Open-minded and willing to take direction
* Must take pride in quality of work

This is a paid internship.
