Job Description

Located in Westminster, Maryland, Knorr Brake Company (KBC) is a manufacturer of Braking, Door, and HVAC systems for the Mass Transit Rail Industry. KBC is division of Knorr-Bremse, AG a Munich Germany based global leader in the design and manufacture of Brakes, Doors, HVAC, and on-Board OEM systems, aftermarket spare parts, overhaul & maintenance services for the Mass Transit Rail.

KBC is searching for a Technical Writing Intern to join our Engineering team for Summer 2018.

Major responsibilities of the position include the following:

* Assist technical writers and trainers as needed
* Pull drawings, gather source information, and interface with engineers, production, and test personnel
* Assist in incorporating customer comments and red line markups into existing manuals
* Create and populate an Excel matrix relating special tools to manuals and continue to populate the existing excel matrix relating components to manuals
* Assist in updating and maintaining the manual change request spreadsheet

Required Skills

Education and Experience:

* Current College student pursuing a degree in engineering preferred.
* GPA 3.0 or higher.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, and PowerPoint preferred)
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Highly organized
