This position is responsible for ensuring that appropriate amounts of raw materials are purchased and inventoried to meet customer material requirements. The Material Planner supports the production schedulers to ensure equipment availability for conversion of materials.


* Supports Production Scheduler by aligning raw materials with the production schedule.
* Initiates all purchase orders for all required raw material.
* Maintain and monitor raw material levels.
* Expedite the movement of materials by means of production run lists and material shortage reports.
* Coordinate the movement of raw materials between facilities to facilitate the on-time execution of the production schedule. For materials in short supply, ensure that their use is prioritized based on customer demand.
* Recommend to the Production Schedulers the disposition of film identified on monthly old and obsolete stock inventory reports.
* Establishes and controls min-max inventory levels for raw materials
* Works with resin handlers on resin issues and coordinates with railroad on inbound and out bound needs.
* Manages raw material requisitions for each order and manages oversize stock usage and allocations.
* Manages raw material claim management, data entry, communication and closure.


* Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate in order to build trusted relationships.
* Effective trouble shooting, problem solving, and organizational skills. Ability to handle frequent interruptions, meet tight deadlines, and handle conflict in an effective manner.
* Demonstrated ability to organize resources and analyse alternatives to make effective decisions.
* Sound knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including logistics, manufacturing planning, demand, and replenishment processes.
* Ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities.
* Demonstration of thoroughness and attention to detail.


* Bachelor's degree in Logistics/Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
* Previous internship experience preferred.
* Excellent computer skills in MS Office including advanced skills in Excel and MRP/ERP Systems; SAP experience is a plus.
