Job Description:

The Department of Global Languages seeks a part-time Adjunct Instructor to teach Chinese Mandarin in Fall Semester of 2017. Classes begin in August. The position provides academic instruction and student academic support for assigned Chinese classes at the 100- 200 levels. The successful candidate will perform tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction. Adjunct faculty must develop instructional methods for their assigned course(s). The instructional methods must conform to the course(s) learning outcomes and course catalog description, department mission, and Bellarmine University.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications: A Master's degree in the Chinese language and have native or near-native proficiency in Chinese Mandarin and English

OR

A Master's degree in a related field (e.g. TOEFL, TOESL, Education) plus a minimum of 18 graduate credits completed in Chinese Mandarin

Preferred Experience: Previous college-level experience teaching Chinese Mandarin and culture courses in both Mandarin and English.

Additional Information:

All Bellarmine University faculty use Moodle as a course delivery system. Upon hiring, adjuncts must familiarize themselves with Moodle and/or provide documented proof of Moodle training experience. The time slot and the textbook is already set for this class.
