A Day in the Life of an EmbeddedSoftware Engineer

The Embedded Software Engineer - Flight Controlsand Avionics is located at Bell Helicopter's headquarters facility in Ft.Worth, TX. This is an Entry Level position.

PositionRequirements:

* Design and test ofFlight Control System (FCS) and Avionics System with embedded DO-178 softwareand complex hardware.
* System and softwaredesign, requirements management, systems specifications, verification andvalidation testing, and documentation for system and software requirements in alaboratory or desktop simulation environment.
* Perform formal softwaredevelopment through design for requirements and requirements verification withC/C code and MathWorks toolsets
* Develop and updaterequirements and verification traceability in DOORS.
* Conduct softwareintegration and testing on target hardware.
* Develop, implement,document, and review Low-Level Test (LLT) and High-Level Test (HLT) softwarecases and expected results.
* Perform LLT and HLTexecution on desktop environment and target electronic hardware integrated withreal sensors and actuators in a lab environment.

Education Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree is required. Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred.
* Minimum 3.0 gpa is required.
* Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering will be considered with sufficient software development experience.
* Master's Degree in the Engineering disciplines mentioned above is preferred.

Ideal Candidates AlsoHave:

* Experience with DO-178Level A software or other embedded software development and testing ispreferred.
* Familiarity with RTCADO-178, RTCA DO-254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 forcommercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems ispreferred.
* Experience with PrimaryDevelopment Environment is preferred.
* Experience with followingsoftware is preferred:
* MathWorks MATLAB /Simulink with Stateflow and Embedded Coder
* C/C code
* C# test scripts
* IBM Rational DOORS
* Serena Dimensions /PVCS
* GIT
