Job Description

JOB TITLE: Child/Youth Psychiatrist


Oversees and directs the medical and psychiatric care of Beech Brook child and youth clients.


  • Assess children for their emotional and physical strengths and issues.
  • Assess the necessity and efficacy of psychotropic medications for a child/youth.
  • Review emotional issues of children and youth in our care.
  • Provide monitoring of medications or children/youths.
  • Provide consultation for staff and caregivers on emotional and behavioral issues of children.
  • Complete all paperwork and adhere to compliance expectations as mandated/requested:Complete direct entry into EMR no later than same day of service.
  • Note the EXACT beginning and end time on each progress note; rounding is not permitted
  • Use of the Doctor Schedule report is required and must be turned into the operations staff daily
  • Participate in Peer Review and other performance improvement activities as required.
  • Submit an invoice bi-weekly using the invoice provided by Beech Brook
  • Make provisions for case coverage in one's absence.
  • Communicate vacation schedules in a timely way to avoid appointment cancellations.
  • Maintain a schedule of appointments which would allow for productivity at or above 70%.
  • Notify Beech Brook at least one week in advance of a planned absence for coverage purposes: 24 hours for emergency absence.
  • Maintain current CPR certification


M.D. or D.O; Licensed Physician in the State of Ohio. Board Certified Child Psychiatrist.


The psychiatrist is responsible for obtaining his/her own professional liability insurance.

Beech Brook will reimburse for the amount of premium paid that pertains to their work for the agency.
