Job Description

The Vector Development Laboratory provides comprehensive service in the design, creation and production of viral vectors for use in basic research. The applicant will be involved in the cloning and manufacture of various viral vectors including recombinant adenovirus, lentivirus and retrovirus.

The applicant will participate in the day to day operations of the Vector Development Laboratory (VDL) with a focus on design of viral vector including advanced molecular biology techniques such as cloning.

Skills:

* Strong background in molecular biology including cloning, gene expression/PCR, DNA isolation, plasmid isolation is required
* Experience in aseptic cell and tissue culture techniques (not required)
* Enjoy learning new technologies and assays
* Able to read and understand laboratory methods
* Ensure compliance with VDL SOPs
* Good communication skills
* Be highly responsible, dedicated to science and problem solving, be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Have excellent organizational skills, prioritize task completion to meet schedules and deadlines and maintain detailed laboratory records
* Able to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

Education: Required: Master's degree in a basic science or equivalent*.

Experience: Required: No experience required.

* NOTE: A Bachelor's degree and two years of directly related experience is considered equivalent to a Master's degree.
