Senior Research & Clinical Statistician
Bayer U.S. LLC seeks Senior Research and
Clinical Statistician to work in Whippany, NJ, to provide statistical expertise to cross-functional teams & ensure the use of appropriate & efficient statistical analysis methods during development, submission and/or life-cycle management of Bayer products according to both
global and regional standards as well as
regulatory guidelines.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Bayer U.S. LLC seeks a Senior Research and Clinical Statistician to work in Whippany, NJ

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Research and Clinical Statistician, are to: 

  • provide statistical expertise to cross-functional teams and

  • ensure the use of appropriate and efficient statistical analysis methods during development, submission and/or life-cycle management of Bayer products according to both global and regional standards as well as regulatory guidelines.

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

  • master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Statistics or Math
  • two years of experience as statistician in Pharma sector.
  • early and late phase clinical trials in oncology and non-oncology therapeutic areas;

  • development of statistical analysis plan, production of statistical analysis, interpretation of the results of studies and generation of responses to inquiries from health authorities; 

  • theoretical and applied statistics, e.g., design of experiments, generalized linear models, categorical data analysis, survival analysis, graphical multiple comparison procedures, measurement error models, data mining, Bayesian statistics, machine learning, computational biology and statistical simulation techniques; 

  • chemistry and biology; critical thinking, clinical trials, drug development and medical ontologies; Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH); 

  • how to work with statistical topics, e.g., subgroup analysis/screening, sample size calculation, interim analysis, crossover design, randomization, Bayesian network analysis, and multiplicity; 

  • statistical programming software/languages (including SAS, R, R Shiny, MATLAB, Excel, EAST, and PASS); simulation in R; SAS Base and SAS Stat as well as data step skills; SAS programming certification(s); 

  • how to explain complex statistics in the context of experimental objectives to those with little or no background in paper or presentations;

  • how to perform literature reviews to identify and understand relevant scientific literature and apply knowledge gained from these sources; and                                                                                                                        
  • at least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.
