Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Global Center of Expertise (CoE) for administrative and physical logistics with functional governance is responsible for all Supply Chain services provide by GS. This CoE is responsible for harmonizing, improving, and leveraging our service capabilities in all regions by working with, influencing, and challenging our current service operations. They will do this by reviewing capabilities, performance, and service content in each region while also validating these aspects with external market providers. Via this process they will be setting best practices and defining the strategic roadmap for the service operations groups.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Improve the service delivery of BASF to our customers globally.
- Increase customer value through globally optimized supply chain logistics, Distribution Network, as part of the end-to-end supply chain.
- Ensure implementation of best practice solutions by creating close collaboration with operations and Internal Business Partners, including the Tactical Distribution Network Design Team for global information exchange.
- Define target picture of service performance by developing holistic roadmap of improvement projects considering all available approaches and project types. Consolidate and prioritize results from benchmarking and process audits and ensure service execution issues are addressed in improvement projects.
- Improve global transparency on administrative distribution network activities and costs, enabling continuous service improvement.
- Support the implementation of functional management to the supply chain operations on a global level.
- Develop, lead, and sustain a community exchange to support the Distribution Network partners globally.
- Request Handling (primary focus to ensure alignment cross community) and other strategic/tactical/operational topics as needed.
- Support of the service operations of the regional functional organization (NA, A/P, EU and SA) as well as global units at compliance issues, optimization, and investment projects with the target to realize safety, business growth, savings, and cost avoidance.
- Foster global and cross-functional collaboration. Capture requirements and needs for change at the interfaces to BASF customers, business units, external logistics service providers, procurement, and shared services.
- Creation of global guidelines, business rules, best practices, methods, templates, trainings, and related KPIs, tools, and process models KPIs in distribution network management.
- Methodical identification of opportunities for improvement in the distribution network management globally, taking into account regional and local distinctions.
- Create global transparency about activities/initiatives in distribution network management. Evaluate and prioritize measures as well as ensure the harmonization of local/regional activities with sites, regions, and the BASF/GS strategy.
- Enhancement of the distribution network management expertise of the regional experts in NA, A/P, EU, and SA with focus on functional excellence.
- Ensure methods are collected, organized, and accessible to GSO units. Standardize and create guidelines on method applications (e.g., benchmarking, surveys and training needs).

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor degree required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Operations or Logistics; advanced degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or Logistics.
- Experience with Transportation Management, Supply Chain, Distribution Network, and/or Logistics processes and systems interfaces.
- At least 3 previous roles performed within career
- Network Optimization experience is preferred.
