Performance Materials (PM) provides polymer solutions for construction, industrial, consumer, and transportation industries. Key products include polyurethanes, engineering plastics, styrenic foams, and specialty plastics.

Where the Chemistry Happens…

In this role as the Business Development Manager for Construction Performance Materials, you will lead a team responsible for the sales growth of the business in North America and serve as a key member of the Construction Senior Leadership Team (CSLT) for North America. You will be based in our Wyandotte office (preferably) or work from a virtual home office.

Formula for Success: You Will…

Drawing upon your expertise within building, architecture, and/or the residential construction industry, you will:
- Own and implement the strategic business plan to penetrate target markets in the construction industry through the development of residential builder and commercial facility manager relationships.
- Drive sales of BASF products to construction firms and facility managers, with responsibility for volume and profitability of sales earned.
- Be accountable for the selection, development, and performance of an interdisciplinary team of applications experts and market development professionals to assemble and validate high-performance building systems, and promote these solutions in the target market.
- Continuously evolve and regenerate BASF building assemblies and ensure they are developed, tested, validated, and marketed in close cooperation with all BASF stakeholder organizations involved
- Communicate to all key stakeholders in the construction market, forming alliances with industry partners/customers and work with regulatory organizations.
- Drive building systems development, application testing, and validation, as well as promoting them as high-performing solutions to the education and government office building segments.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with value-adding alliance partners (e.g., industry associations, code/regulations institutions).
- Support the positioning of the current portfolio building solutions in the market and gain qualifications required to develop new business.
- Position BASF as a leader in sustainable construction solutions and lead continuous innovation in building systems that enable customers to build higher performance and more sustainable buildings.
- Work with Regional Marketing to develop content for market communications projects, including tools to aid customers in using BASF building systems.
- Collaborate with operational functions (e.g., customer care, product management, supply chain, quality management) to ensure products are delivered on time per Perfect Order Index KPIs.
