Manager, Product Management, Personal Care Specialties (1702395) -Florham Park, NJ

In this Product Manager role, you will lead the profitable revenue growth for the portfolios assigned primarily to the Personal Care Specialties market space. Success is measured by effective team leadership and business management of the existing product lines and its effective regional implementation in North America (NA).

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Responsible for the NA Profit & Loss (P&L) of the team's assigned products and product groups.
- Drive the regional Product Management organization's presentation of our NA needs to the global and regional teams, and reach agreement on strategic business goals.
- Strategy:
- Lead development of the NA product portfolio line strategies in alignment with the global SBU strategy to bring solutions to our customers and extract maximum value for BASF. Strategies include both externally focus activities (e.g., targeted market driven activities, customers, segments, regions, external benchmarking) and internally focus asset activities (e.g., asset strategy, CapEx, internal benchmarking).
- Communication:
- Communicate and drive the alignment with all other commercial functions of the line strategies and its implementation plan.
- Tactics:
- Lead the tactical implementation of the NA product line strategies for existing products.
- Pro-active operative business steering:
- Monthly business review including top business drivers for existing performance, top growth opportunities, and counter-actions to address business challenges to improve performance, financial forecasting, pricing strategies and contracting strategy, and business cases for investments.
- Maintain external relationships with Key Strategic Customers, Suppliers, Toll Manufacturers, Distribution Partners, as well as internal relationships with Sales Marketing, Supply Chain, Controlling, Regulatory, Production, R&D, other BU's, Purchasing, and other Regional Business Leaders, and Product Management.

- Lead a team of five Product Managers.
- Coach and develop team members to reach their full potential.
- Motivate and challenge to drive high performance.

- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry.
- Very strong business acumen; advanced degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in business management, marketing, product management, or sales management.
- Experience working in complex, interdisciplinary, and cross-functional teams.
- Intercultural awareness with ability to adjust leadership and communication styles.
- Ability to motivate a diverse team and influence key stake holders.
- Proven leadership and influencing skills. Direct reports desired. Influencing leadership required.
- Highly developed communication skills - verbal and written.
- Must have highly developed organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to travel 25% of time
