Bilingual Specialist, Manager Resource Team

This senior leadership resource specialist is responsible for providing expert consultation services and solutions for routine and complex employee relations (ER) issues related to performance and talent management, conflict management, attendance, workplace guidelines, and policies.

As part of a North American team, this position will be the key Human Resources (HR) contact for managers for advice, support, and resolution of ER issues and will partner with HR Centers of Excellence (COE's), Legal, etc. as required to provide strategic interventions to reduce ER issues in the workplace.

The successful candidate will:

- Provide advice and counsel to managers and supervisors regarding personnel practices,

policies, and employment/labor laws to ensure consistent and accurate delivery in these

areas.

- Guide & support managers with employee relations issues for resolution as needed.

- Utilize a computerized case management system and knowledgebase for tracking,

information gathering and/or troubleshooting and trend analysis.

- Excellence (COEs), Legal and other business operations throughout the company.

- Participate in department projects and HR initiatives as assigned.

- Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives working closely with

leadership to enhance and facilitate improvements which may include the participation in

special projects.

- Work effectively in a team Shared Services environment.

Qualifications

Education
- BA/BS degree in HR or related field and a minimum 5+ years of progressive work experience or 8+ years of progressive HR experience without a degree.
- CHRP/CHRL certification is a plus.
- Bilingual (English/French) is required.

Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or Human Resources Manager.
- Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints,counseling managers on the interpretation of policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management.
- Experience with HR systems and technology (e.g. SAP - HR, case management,Success Factors - performance, Learning & Development, Hire Mgmt - Taleo, etc.)
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally, externally and remotely.
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian provincial and federal labor laws andHR governmental compliance requirements including Employment Standards, Human Rights, Labour Relations, Workplace Safety, Employment Equity, Pay Equity and others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to use sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the job.
- Additional consideration will be given to those who also have knowledge of U.S. state,federal labor laws, and HR governmental compliance requirements including FLSA, FLMA, EEO, NLRA, Workers Compensation etc.
- Six Sigma certification is a definite plus.
