The Fuel & Lubricant Solutions business unit (EVO) is a profitable contributor to the Performance Chemicals operating division of BASF. The North American (NA) region has an opening for a Global Business Analyst - Fuel & Lubricant Solutions.

Fuel and Lubricant Solutions develops, produces, and markets performance chemicals for the worldwide automotive and oil industries. The business is influenced mainly by the trends toward global motorization and the further development of engines designed to cut fuel consumption.

Business Analyst, Fuels & Lubricants (1703159) - Florham Park, NJ

The Business Analyst will maintain a strong interface to Sales and Marketing and controlling to drive sustainable business performance.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Procedurally drive the NA Leadership Team mission for Fuel & Lubricant Solutions.
- Hold accountability for sales and margin analysis; identifying key issues for profitability improvement, and drive appropriate improvement actions.
- Develop tools, exhibits, and data banks to allow for efficient reporting, monitoring, and tracking of Key Performance Indicators.
- Track and monitor market and competitive intelligence while coordinating activities across Global Marketing and Business Management
- Prepare input for Annual Budget, Monthly Commentary, and Headcount, and administer target setting across the region
- Provide feedback on results, information, and updates around key account strategy implementation.
- Participate in commercial projects including, but not limited to:
- Strategic Planning process (SBU Strategies) to develop and secure final approval.
- Cross BASF customer and market initiatives to drive profitable growth
- Drive Six Sigma projects as well as coordinating other business improvement strategies; ensuring sustainable improvement in quality and process

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's of Business Administration degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of finance-/business-related working experience, preferably in a large matrixed organization; commercial/customer trends experience is preferable.
- Working knowledge of SAP.
- Strong Excel skills, particularly with pivot tables and macros.
- Prior experience leading complex projects and optimization efforts using various tools and methods.
- Ability to communicate globally with colleagues.
- Able to travel up to 15%.
- Green Belt certification, or a desire to become Green Belt certified.
- Solid understanding and demonstrated experience regarding improvement techniques, knowledgeable of processes and tools associated with Lean, Six Sigma, and Design for Six Sigma methodologies.
