The Sparta Site Manager will lead the Sparta Engineering Plastics Compounding team in driving operational excellence in all areas including safety, people, quality, and efficiency. The role provides leadership, direction, and focus for all activities at the Sparta Site to achieve business objectives, and s/he will work collaboratively with other sites and functions to maximize results.

- Lead the Sparta Site to operational excellence by developing a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with BASF standards and policies, ISO/TS16949, Responsible Care®, and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Create a high-performance team environment and foster a positive site culture where a zero-incident mindset, collaboration, open dialogue, and diversity of perspectives are valued.
- Drive EHS performance through continuous improvement, process optimization, risk identification, compliance, motivation of team, and exposure reduction.
- Represent BASF in the community and maintain positive community relationships.
- Collaborate with EHS, Supply Chain, Technology, Operational Excellence, Engineering and Maintenance, Human Resources, and Quality functions to put the customer first and meet their expectations for quality and delivery.
- Set and monitor performance of the plant and drive improvements in safety, quality, cost, productivity, and organization.
- Work with commercial and technology teams to implement new technologies and products, and manage site fixed costs through budget development, cost center management, and review process.
- Lead development of the site capital budget. Work with the Technology, Engineering & Maintenance, and Operations teams
- Collaborate with global technology team and plant personnel to solve technical problems and optimize operations.
