The BASF division Care Chemicals offers a broad range of ingredients for hygiene, personal care, home care, industrial and institutional cleaning, and technical applications. We are the leading supplier for the cosmetics industry, as well as the detergents and cleaning agents industry and support our customers worldwide with innovative and sustainable products, solutions, and concepts. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Demand Planner within our Care Chemicals Division. The role is responsible for overseeing and maintaining demands in demand planning and supply network planning (SNP) within North America for all finished goods. This role will also support the planning of raw materials to each of the production facilities. This role is responsible for the continuous improvement of our BASF demand planning systems and processes applied to streamline activities. This role will lead Demand/Supply Chain projects to improve forecasting and support the S&OP process. This person will be responsible for coordinating demand planning activities throughout the cross functional groups within Care Chemicals.

Demand Planner (1703326) - Florham Park, NJ

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Act as process and application expert for both Demand Planning and ELM (Extended Location Mapping), including all 3 types of demand: Third Party, Transfer, and Export.
- Provide first-level support for technical and business issues.
- Investigate end-user questions/issues regarding the "accuracy" of the data.
- Manage, maintain, and monitor the demand planning process.
- Analyze the Demand Planning System's forecast.
- Obtain information regarding future demand. Analyze, communicate, and implement accordingly.
- Review Transfer and Export data. Analyze, communicate, and implement changes accordingly.
- Act as a liaison between Supply Planners, Sales, Product Management, and Controlling for all forecast-related issues.
- Investigate and provide resolution for forecast issues.
- Support reporting and S&OP preparation.
- Coordinate further enhancements to the processes/system. Share best practices in the planning community.
- Drive the continuous improvement process and develop action plans.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor's degree required.
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience: preferably in Supply Chain, IT, or a business-related area.
- Proficiency in SAP and R3 strongly preferred.
- Intermediate level of Excel expertise.
- Advanced knowledge of how data is transferred within applications and between systems.
- Solid ERP functional/process understating.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task, project management skills, ability to deal with conflicting deadline and priorities; strong organizational planning skills.
- Strong focus on teamwork and communication.
- Highly detail-oriented, including data analysis and organization.
- Proficiency in SAP APO desired.
- CPIM/IBF certification (or working toward)
- Auditing and monitoring data integrity; reduce inconsistencies to improve data effectiveness and efficiency.
- Travel 10%
