Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Global Product Manager is responsible for global Product Management activities, including: support of the development and execution of product line strategies (with Sales & Marketing), cost management, supplier and co-producer relationship and business contact liaison for supply chain-related processes (i.e., S&OP, demand planning, inventory). The candidate will also help develop an asset strategy for the Oilfield Solutions business.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Support product line development of financial forecasts, demand forecasts, operational planning, supply planning, inventory targets, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Establish and manage relationships with supplying BU's (transfer pricing, capacity).
- Develop co-producer/tolling and transfer sourcing strategy and applicable relationships.
- Publish global limit price (cost) for existing products and approve base price undercuts.
- Optimize cost of externally sourced merchandise.
- Define improvement measures for fixed manufacturing costs (where applicable in EVG) and improvement for asset effectiveness (where applicable in EVG).
- Define rules on allocation of products in case of shortages.
- Validate and challenge budget proposals and align with cross-SBU/stakeholders.
- Optimize supply footprint globally and with partners.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Chemistry, Engineering, or Marketing.
- At least 6 years of experience in chemical or related industry.
- Balanced tactical and strategic thinker with business and financial acumen.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, leadership, and organizational skills.
- System knowledge including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
- High level of tolerance for ambiguity and change including a willingness to take calculated risks and implement novel approaches.
- Previous experience in chemical process know-how, chemical engineering, and/or asset effectiveness required.
- Willing to travel 15% of the time.
