Quality Management Specialist (1702936) - Charlotte, NC

This position is part of the N-EV Quality group, responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Management Systems required for ISO 9001:2015 and RCMS (Responsible Care Management System) for the North America Paper and Water business (N-EVW). The candidate is expected to work effectively with various business leaders, technical managers, manufacturing representatives, quality personnel, supply chain, and global business teams to establish and maintain these systems. This includes Quality management system processes and all non-conformance (NCM) activities for the various sub-businesses. The main goal of this position is to drive continuous improvement and show commitment to our customers, internally and externally, when it comes to quality or service-related issues.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Facilitate coordination between group activities/procedures and site activities/procedures for Quality/RCMS-related programs to ensure alignment among the various sites.
- Monitor key Quality parameters (non-conformance management) targets, Cost of Poor Quality, Supplier Assessments, and other KPIs. Update business with results, trends, and activities for continuous improvement.
- Update and manage regional processes/procedures as related to the standards. Provide guidance to businesses/sites in regard to documentation.
- Review and manage the NCMs (non-conformance management). Drive corrective and preventative actions resulting from customer complaints, internal failures, and audit findings with a focus on effective root cause analysis.
- Interface with production site Quality teams and NCM Coordinators to drive necessary actions for quality issue resolution with a sense of urgency and continual improvements.
- Participate in internal and external ISO, RCMS, and customer audits.
- Facilitate training of business personnel in QMS (Quality Management System) and RCMS requirements.
- Manage process for performance chemicals specification changes for third parties and troubleshoot CoA (Certificate of Analysis) issues within SAP.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of product quality requirements and potential implications with an understanding of their business impact.
- Experience with web-based platforms, SAP, Lotus Notes, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office.
- Exposure to non-conformances, root cause determination, corrective actions, and quality continual improvement is preferred.
- Knowledge with ISO 9001 and Responsible Care Management System (RCMS) is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels within and outside the organization.
- Strong communication skill, both verbal and written.
- Solid presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and systems.
