Research Specialist (1702759) - Iselin, NJ

Working under minimal daily direct supervision, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Implement experiments, generate reliable data, and interpret results for FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) catalyst research projects.
- Coordinate and effectively support/service groups to deliver results in a timely manner.
- Organize and store data in electronic databases.
- Analyze results, suggest and guide implementation of next experiments
Process data in the form of tables, graphs, PowerPoint presentations and share with the supervisor and the team, as needed.
- Responsible for performing the entire range of refining catalyst preparation and evaluation methods.
- Train team members and colleagues .
- Resolve issues in routine procedures, and troubleshoot samples and equipment as needed.
- Identify hazards and work safely following EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) guidelines.
- Generate reliable results consistently.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry /Material Science/Chemical Engineering with no experience OR Associates Degree in a related scientific discipline plus 5 years of laboratory experience OR a High School Diploma or GED with 7 years of laboratory experience. Internal candidates should have at least 3 years of experience.
- 10+ years of FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) R&D experience.
- Experience working in plant trials, scale-up, and in pilot plants.
- Knowledge of and focus on EH&S protocols and cleanliness in the laboratory.
- Excellent laboratory skills, including detailed record keeping and knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and at a fast pace.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office software and Lotus Notes required.
- Must generate reliable results consistently
