The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting day-to-day operations in the facility. This position plays a key role in ensuring that quality products are manufactured safely, in an environmentally sound manner, efficiently and on time.

Formula for Success: You Will…

Technical Ownership of Process
- Hold technical ownership and definition of process safety hazard analysis, EHS operating systems, and process-defining documentation such as piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), mass, and energy balances.
- Assure effectiveness and technical accuracy of operating procedures. Define, develop, and implement procedures via Management of Change (MOC) protocols. Assist and verify the technical training of operators.

Identify and Implement Improvement
- Utilize Root Cause, LEAN/Six Sigma, and other tools as necessary to drive continuous improvement. Identify process improvement opportunities, and develop and execute a plan to achieve them in a cost-effective and timely manner. Engage with management to sell the plan, and deliver on the agreed-upon commitments
- Be responsible for capital project technical development, including project scope and justification. Manage small local projects and participate as manufacturing representative on large capital project design teams.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Require BS Degree in engineering; preference to Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Ceramic and a Minimum (2) years' experience. Prefer operations or maintenance in union site
- Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills, ability to lead through influence.
- Strong Interpersonal, collaboration and communications skills needed to build trust and establish relationships quickly and effectively. Strong verbal and written skills are a must
- Sound technical/problem solving knowledge, analytical abilities, and computer skills.
- Demonstrated experience and skills for problem solving, change management, root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
- Must be a proactive self-starter and capable of working with limited direction, demonstrating initiative and a strong drive to develop both continuous learning and results.
- Understanding of environmental, safety, and health policies and procedures and strong commitment to safe work practices.

- Prefer Experience with electrical systems, process controls & DCS
- Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma process
- Strong project management skills.
