Where the Chemistry Happens…

This position is responsible for leading the daily activities in the operation of Utilities, Stearates/Tollling and Warehouse area of the Zachary Site. The supervisor is responsible to ensure that all government regulations, plant, and company safety, health, operations, environmental procedures and policies are adhered to. S/he is directly responsible for meeting production schedules and ensuring that products meet customer specifications. In addition, the role will ensure all shipments are processed to meet the customer's ship dates, material is properly packaged, and meets all the Dangerous Goods shipping requirements. The supervisor is accountable for ensuring continuous site utilities operation and management of the site waste water treatment area.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Confer with other supervisors and plant personnel to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
- Be responsible for accurate production reporting in accordance with established procedures.
- Perform activities related to Goods Issues and Goods Receipts. Responsible for stock transfer between the warehouse and unit.
- Provide timely disposition and movement of raw materials, in-process, and finished products. Block customer returns and rejected finished products in the warehouse as needed.
- Ensure all procedures used in the unit are approved, and current operations to prevent unauthorized changes in processes or operational evolutions are enforced.
- Perform activities relating to Finite scheduling such as releasing process orders, scheduling, and sequencing generating process instruction sheets (PI) with order specifications.
- Assign operators to units or tasks that they have been properly trained for.
- Coach and develop personnel (salaried and hourly) into high-performance teams that exemplify the culture and behaviors required by BASF. Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and selection of employees. Prepare and implement succession plans.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- High School Diploma/Equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of warehouse or logistics experience in a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years of proven supervisory and/or leadership skills combined with excellent communications and human relations skills preferred.
- Strong technical skills and ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to lead by example and sets environment for taking risks within the organization by addressing constraints and enabling resources
- Foster the integration of a diversity of perspectives across the organization, resulting in development of high-performing teams and output.
