We are currently seeking a Commercial Account Manager to secure new and existing business through positive customer experience with BASF and persistent deal management

Commercial Account Manager

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Serve as the first interface to the customer
- Provide sales forecasts on a customer level
- Negotiate and close deals / contracts with customers with price authority above marketing defined limit prices
- Coordinate all customer interaction
- Build customer relationships
- Analyze the market, customer and competitor landscape and update market intelligence data
- Identify and specify customer needs
- Develop account plans, align with marketing and implement
- Identify new leads through customer interaction and coordinate lead qualification
- Coordinate the process of turning leads in opportunities, put together the business case for alternative solution scenarios and present solutions to the customer
- Attract new customers with existing and new applications (hunting) in line with strategy
- Extend the portfolio beyond existing fields, to grow with existing customers (farming)
- Monitor sales against contractual agreements and counteract in case of deviation

**Candidates have the option of working from one of the locations listed above or from a virtual office.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
- Bachelors of Science in business or chemistry / chemical engineering or closely related field
- 5+ years of commercial experience in the chemical industry required
- A minimum of 3 years sales or sales support experience required ,experience with customer interaction and managing sales process
- Experience building customer relationships across different levels and functional areas required
- Good communication skills, motivated by quantitative targets, service mentality required
- Basic understanding of contracting required
- Must be willing to travel 50% primarily US domestic travel
