BASF is a global leader in acrylic chemistry and its associated technology. The Suffolk site manufactures polyacrylamides used in a variety of water treatments and other applications. The site is a key supply point to support the water solutions, oil field and mining business in the North America region. PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Conduct work activities in a manner that protects the safety and health of employees, visitors and the environment as established by company policies and procedures.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years experience working in a process related manufacturing plant
- Proficient in math, written and communication skills
- Ability to interface with computer operated systems and programs

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES-
- Operate all assigned processes according to standard operating procedures and notify senior personnel of any deviations;
- Understand and have a working knowledge of assigned area.
- Coordinate area activities with other shift personnel and QC lab staff to maintain throughout, meet goals, and ensure high quality standards.
- Perform a complete and detailed turnover and ensure that all required documentation is complete and accurate;
- Maintain and restock supplies and raw materials as necessary for the assigned process area;
- Process waste material according to site wide procedures and actively pursue waste minimization within assigned process area;
- Obtain training necessary for Job progression, complete all training requirements for assigned area(s)1 and train on new processes or tasks as required.
- Ability to lift 55 pounds, excessive walking, bending, continuous climbing of stairs, operate a forklift and cleaning equipment.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work area.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal direct supervision to meet daily goals.
- Ambition to learn other processes while maintaining obligations of current position.
- Package finished product in accordance to the production schedule and packaging statement, while maintaining rates to prevent production downtime.
- Able to follow standard operating procedure to ensure packaging requirements are maintained at standard.
- Following guidelines concerning product qualification and testing requirements as it relates to the packaging process.
- Pursue all aspects of waste minimization to ensure products are properly disposition, and understanding the waste process to handle generation as regulated.
- Have a full working knowledge of the equipment and processes associated with packaging and warehousing.

Must be able to interact with internal personnel, Shift Supervisor, Shift Chemist, Senior Operators, Admin Asst. Tech., Maintenance \ Electrical employees, Process Improvement
