The New Business Development Manager is responsible for managing projects within NC/A with a focus on conceptualization, execution, and implementation. Projects will include the development of new business opportunities in the North American Region with a focus on industry or market opportunities. The successful candidate will have strong project management skills, commercial experience developing new businesses, the ability to work across businesses and functions, and the ability to spot trends and new opportunities in various industries that align with BASF's capabilities.

Formula for Success: You Will…

New Business Development
- Conceptualize, execute and implement projects designed to drive organic growth with BASF's strategic customers and in strategic industries.
- Create customized strategies and solutions.
- Assist with new business development for customers with varying needs, adapting the business interface to meet those needs.
- Provide market intelligence, market studies, and expertise on new industry trends and opportunities.
- Coordinate Facility Solutions (FS) customer outreach projects, based in NC/AI, designed to service BASF North America in a comprehensive manner in terms of marketing BASF's technologies and services to facility managers at a wide target group of potential customers.
- Manage the customer segmentation tool.
- Vet and validate targets for FS engagements.
- Verify customer attractiveness with the relevant internal stakeholders including: Business Units, LinX and Innovation teams, and any other pertinent Corporate functions.
- Project management for customer engagements and specific customer initiatives.
- Project tracking and management of the pipeline for potential opportunities and current engagements.
- Maintain and improve marketing materials: slide presentations, brochures, and samples.
- Capture key lessons learned to implement continuous improvement strategies for FS to facilitate new profitable growth for BASF Coordination of the FS portion of the What BASF Does tool, ensuring a strong marketing appeal.
- Develop and maintain a business plan and go-to-market strategy, including identifying the necessary internal personnel support needs, allowing for a workable new business venture in BASF NA targeting customers across all industry segments
- Program organization:
- Maintain ongoing touch points for Business Unit (BU) subject matter experts for products/technologies/services to customers.
- Coordinate ongoing customer service platform/helpdesk.
- Manage the logistics of third-party alliances.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field required; advanced degree in Marketing or General Business Management is a plus.
- At least 3 years of experience in new business development, marketing, industry research, and/or project management roles.
- Experience in commercial/technical or consulting fields is preferable.
- High business and financial acumen
- Excellent problem solving skills, with demonstrated ability to develop and implement creative solutions to complex problems.
- Self-driving and entrepreneurial with strong influencing and networking skills.
- Strong project management and execution orientation.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Exemplary personal standards relative to ethical and corporate representation of BASF and self in internal and external environment.
- Broad knowledge of BASF portfolio and relevant industries is a plus.
