The Digital Innovation Manager is responsible for acting as a business developer engaged in customer-facing activities to target, develop, and close specific digitalization opportunities.

Will lead project teams within the business unit, manage cross-business IT initiatives to create capabilities that improve overall business performance, and enhance the value we deliver to our customers. A primary focus is digitalization, helping us to exploit emerging IT capabilities that will differentiate our competitive position in the market.

- Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage.
- Ensures ongoing development and deployment of IT business system solutions based on business needs and strategy.
- Support the design and successful implementation of profitable, effective, and customer-oriented solutions based on the business requirements.
- Work on integrating digital technologies in our business.
- Launch and grow Construction Chemical's digitalization initiative in North America.
- Partner with platform service functions and other business units to create differentiated value propositions by leveraging the complete portfolio of BASF IT tools, solutions, and services.
- Responsible for working out and delivering on business plans for digitalization.
- Support the Construction Chemicals' business lines with the digitalization initiative, including message development, training, business development activities, and opportunity development through closure.
- Identify opportunities within the customer chain for digitalization, consult with direct and indirect customers, and implement customer-specific solutions.
- Assist in and drives existing customers' adaptions of digitalization strategies.
- Monitor and improve execution and effectiveness of digitalization programs.
- Key contributor to the annual IT Project Planning Process for the RBU.
- Build and maintain relationships and networks with internal clients and resources in other parts of BASF.
- Lead project teams to include supervision of contract employees as required.
- Operate his/her area/function in accordance and awareness of Company Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies.
- Take immediate action to eliminate significant risk and to propose actions to eliminate non-conformances or deviations.
- Ensure individual responsibilities within the unit/function are clearly documented and communicated.
- Maintain employees are appropriately qualified and have sufficient resources and skills to fulfill their responsibilities.
- Routinely report on relevant EHS performance metrics for his/her subordinates.
- Take an active role in training all employees and conducting routine awareness programs in his/her area of responsibility in the EHS requirements and policies to ensure all employees are adequately trained for their function.
- Understand and follow all quality initiatives and processes for ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, and other ISO regulations, procedures, and processes as they pertain to job responsibilities.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required; an advanced degree with a Business or Economics focus, or equivalent experience, is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in using progressive IT systems.
- Prior background in project management of large IT projects.
- Solid knowledge of business information systems.
- Working knowledge of SAP business software applications.
- A strategic thinker with good business judgment.
- Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy.
- Solid understanding of strategic IT solutions, particularly those that support IoT and other emerging information and data analysis technologies.
- Exceptional ability to collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
- Demonstrated proficiency in leading business process improvements that deliver significant value to an organization.
- Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects.
- Capable of building strong team relationships.
- Good communication (written and oral), presentation, and team facilitation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Access.
