What is the Operations Leadership Development Program?

The Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) is a three-year rotational program designed to develop high potential, entry-level individuals into future leaders. This is accomplished through challenging and rewarding rotational assignments, technical and leadership training, advanced education, leadership opportunities and exposure, and mentor-ship.

Rotations are focused within the operations functions of the company: manufacturing, quality, supply chain and/or the business areas and could be across any of our Platforms and Services facilities (York, PA, Radford, VA, Kingsport, TN, Louisville, KY, Aiken, SC, Anniston, AL, and Phoenix, AZ)

Common Rotations Include :

* Process Engineer
* Supply Chain Planner
* Industrial Engineer
* Production Control/Manufacturing Engineer
* Quality Engineer
* Operations Program Specialist
* Value Stream Specialist/Supervisor
* Subcontract Administrator

What would I gain from becoming an OLDP participant?

1. Experience: Assignments are in diverse areas within Operations including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and business area operations. In addition to job functional roles, OLDP participants are exposed to a variety of strategic project initiatives.

2. Diversity: The OLDP's affiliation with other BAE Systems leadership development programs enables participants to work in cross-functional and cross-site rotational assignments.

3. Flexibility: The OLDP provides a great deal of flexibility and choice for program participants. This flexibility includes OLDP participant input of 2nd and 3rd rotational assignments and/or geographic location.

4. Education: Participants are required to complete a graduate degree on a part-time basis. The school and specific degree (MBA, Mechanical Engineering, etc) is left up to the candidate, providing it is applicable to the business. BAE Systems provides up-front tuition assistance.

5. Training: Members of the program complete monthly leadership and skills trainings. Participants attend a week-long leadership development conference (LDC) annually. This conference provides personalized leadership training as well as an opportunity to network with senior BAE Systems executives and other leadership development program participants across the company.

6. Mentorship: Each participant is assigned a mentor who will work to expose OLDP participants to both diverse and challenging experiences. Mentors also provide direction in choosing rotations, career development, and off-program placement.
