Job Description

The Electronic Systems' Hardware Engineering Department is seeking candidates that are pursuing a degree in Material Science with an interest in additive manufacturing for a 3-6 month internship.

At BAE Systems, we deliver a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support services.

Roles and Responsibilities may include:

* Research material properties and test materials using tensile or hardness tests.
* Cross section material samples
* Assist with the design for additive manufacturing and analyses (structural and thermal) of hardware to be built by the Additive Process.
* Utilize analysis tools such as SEM/EDX, FIB, AUGER, ESCA, FTIR, X-Ray imaging, CT Scanning, TMA
* Utilize data driven analysis to support root cause investigations
* Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at cost reduction or process improvement
* Ability to collaborate with the team for testing and analysis of materials in support of failure analysis or reliability assessments
* Other duties and responsibilities as required.

* Participation in a complementary summer-long non-technical intern project, in addition to engineering assignment.
