Job Description

Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Location: College Station, Texas

Primary Role:

The role of the AV Project Assistant is to support our project team (designer, project manager, and technology consultants) by attending meetings and assisting with document preparation and distribution to ensure excellent communication and follow-through amongst all parties involved in the process. The successful candidate is someone who understands the construction process, has excellent communication skills, is detailed oriented, highly organized, and capable of rolling with changing priorities and a wide range of personalities.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Maintain accurate Change Order/RFI/Contingency/Submittal Log and track review/approval by architect and owner
* Consistently look for methods to streamline the construction process and increase productivity
* Plan and prioritize all tasks from sales, project management, and design most efficiently
* Assist with distribution of plans and job documents
* Assist with development and assembly of close out documents (as-builts, operating manuals, warranty statements, etc)
* Attend job-walks, site inspections, and other meetings as required
* Communicate owner responsibilities to clients and ensure completion thereof
* Generate meeting summaries and action items for job site meetings, site inspections, and walk-throughs
* Using MS Project, assist Project Managers in creating/modifying project schedules
* Assist in pulling/staging equipment for jobs
* Team player in all aspects, ready to help at all times
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

This position is open to both part-time and full-time applicants who have a degree in (or are currently pursuing a degree in) Construction Science or related field of study. Students must be in their Junior or Senior year and have the ability to work 15+ hours per week. At least one year of experience in commercial construction is required. Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project. Experience with Bluebeam Revu a plus.

* Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.
* Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Proficiency the use of personal computers including such programs as Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Ability to read and understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans, ceiling plans, and line drawings.
* Ability to plan, organize, and execute projects on time and on budget
* Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
* Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
* Valid and current driver's license with good driving record

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

* Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
* Lifting, reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
* Work is performed inside, typically in air conditioned spaces.
