Data Engineer, Req #15WD19261

Location: San Francisco, CA

The Analytics team is constantly evolving our data infrastructure and looking for new technologies and solutions that deliver deep, actionable data insights. You will develop and support sophisticated data architecture at all stages from events logging to ETL to exposing and visualizing data for the end users.

The ideal candidate will be a strong engineer who thinks creatively and communicates effectively. S/He should be capable of crunching terabytes of data, yet comfortable with making it accessible to business stakeholders; responsible and self-reliant, yet highly collaborative.

Responsibilities

-Architect & develop systems and processes to collect, transform, store and enable analysis of structured and unstructured data.

-Ensure data quality and integrity.

-Automate data collection from 20+ internal and external sources.

-React instantaneously to any incidents and promptly fulfill new data requests.

-Research and evaluate best data processing technologies & solutions on the market.

-Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Business Development, Product & other teams to help them uncover the insights from the data.

Requirements

-BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field

-Substantial coding experience, ability to write efficient and clean code (best proved by a public repo)

-Advanced knowledge of Python & working knowledge of Java (or extensive work in other language)

-Proficiency in SQL & database management

-Understanding of distributed systems concepts, problems and solutions

-Fluency in Git, basic shell scripting & Linux administration

-Working familiarity with Amazon Web Services, specifically Redshift

-Track record of solving data problems including quality & integrity

-R, JavaScript knowledge is a plus
