The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking career-minded individuals for our Wesphere Message Broker Developer opportunity in Costa Mesa, CA. This position will provide technical mentoring and consultation to other members of the IT organization. This is a great opportunity with an insurance industry leader based in Southern California. This position will consult with systems user to identify and define client/server software applications needs. The individual will analyze requests for changes, updates or modifications to new or existing software applications and make recommendations for designs to meet client specifications. You will develop, program, and design new software programs and applications along with write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications and end user requirements. The selected candidate will prepare charts, tables, and logic diagrams needed in problem analysis. The individual will work with end users to create documentation as it relates to the program definition, development, business requirements.  Documentation includes software objectives, deliverables, and end user specifications. The WesphereMessage Broker Developerwill write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications. You will also write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary. The individual will keep abreast of new and changing technological advances in program languages, utilities, tools and client/server technology to ensure achievement of optimum results. The selected candidate will write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process along with work with end users regarding systems analysis, general systems design, vendor contracts and detail systems design. You will serve as a resource for the lower level positions in the applications development and support function.




Successful candidates have the following qualifications:


·         8 years programming experience with 5 years of experience with IBM WebSphere Message Broker

·         Experience in designing and developing integration solutions using WebSphere Message Broker and Message Broker Toolkit

·         Experience with IBM WebSphere Message Broker 6 or 7 using MRMs, Message Sets and Message Definitions, Message Transformation Nodes, XML/XSLT, XSD, Java Compute Node, Custom Nodes/Plugins, Message Flows, ESQL, Broker/Configuration Manager, mqsi/rfh utilities


·    Experience with developing complex message flows integrating CICS, SQL    Server, and Web Services.

·         Experience programming with: Shell scripts, PERL, Java, SQL, .net

·         Experience working with Databases such as DB2 or SQL Server and Stored Procedures.

·          Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, Business or a closely related field




  • Experience in integrating WebSphere MQ with Java EE application servers such as Tomcat, JBOSS, WebSphere Application Server
  • Expertise in best practices and performance tuning of Message Broker based middleware applications
  • Experience in build and deployment management of WebSphere Message Broker applications
  • Experience in Java based integration application development using XML, XSD, JAXB, JMS, Web Services, etc...
  • Experience with securing IIB web services using Kerberos in a .Net and IBM hybrid environment.
