The Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking career-minded individuals for our Web Developer opportunity in Costa Mesa, CA.  Advanced Technologies Developer with extensive .Net experience. Candidate must have a good understanding of the complete system development and deployment lifecycle, with experience in SDLC and iterative methodologies such as Agile, Scrum or RUP. As an Advanced Technologies Developer you will be responsible for: Providing technical leadership and development of data processing and systems projects which involve emerging technologies, currently the Microsoft .Net set of technologies. Devise or modify technical solutions to solve problems. Design, code, test, debug and document programs. Performs at a high level of technical capability while developing or maintaining application systems. Collaborate with IT management, project or maintenance team members and other IT colleagues to evaluate, design, and provide technical solutions that support the ebusiness strategy and otherwise contribute to the delivery of cost effective business solutions. Act as an internal technical mentor and consultant. Be a key IT technical contributor on emerging technologies used for the internet, intranet, or internal applications. The main challenge to an Advanced Technologies Developer is developing sound, cost-effective applications to achieve customer needs. They must keep abreast of current IT technologies, and understand where these technologies can be deployed to provide cost effective business solutions.

Qualifications

Successful candidates have the following qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of designing and developing business critical web applications, in .Net or Java
  • B.S. Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent in technical studies such as Mathematics or Engineering
  • Must be highly competent in these technology areas: Visual Basic (or C#) .Net, MVC, plus one or more of the following: ASP.Net, Web Forms, Web Services, SQL Server
  • Experience with Linux and CQ5 preferred
  • Solid foundation in distributed application design concepts and principles
  • Experience with Agile or Scrum highly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work well within a team environment as well as individually Good interpersonal and communications skills with ability to express complex technical concepts in terms less technical people can understand
  • Candidates from financial and/or insurance software development environments highly preferred
