Job Description:

Assists the Head Athletic Trainer with the organization and administration of all aspects of the sport medicine program, including practice and event coverage, injury management, evaluation and rehabilitation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer:

* Serve as the Certified Athletic Trainer for the women's wrestling team, covering all practices and meets, including away-from-home travel.
* Oversee injury evaluation and management for student-athletes.
* Oversee rehabilitation, pre-season screenings and weight certifications for student-athletes.
* Supervise sports medicine student assistants

ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

* Maintain electronic record keeping system.
* Assist with occasional sports coverage as needed with winter and spring sports.
* Assist with training room coverage as needed.
* All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

* Graduate from CAATE approved undergraduate or entry-level master's athletic training program, required.
* Current Athletic Training Registration in the State of Minnesota required.
* Current CPR/AED and first aid credentials required.
* Knowledge and adherence to the MIAC Code of Ethics.
* Follow MIAC and NCAA Division III guidelines and regulations, while exhibiting behavior that represents a positive image of the athletic program and the college.
* Integrity and leadership skills
* Strong organizational and communication skills
* Ability to build and strengthen cross-campus relationships
* Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment.
* Ability to be attentive to details, be accurate, be precise.
* Ability to lead/teach and mentor others.
