Job Description

Entry into this title requires Technical Title Plan (TTP) Board Approval. This is the entry level technical position within the Technical Title Plan that requires an individual with technical skills or knowledge but has little to no relevant experience. Individuals at this technical level will have or be capable of supporting technical initiatives within a larger technical project through technical assessment, standards, certification planning and execution of infrastructure and services that use network and system technologies. This position normally provides lab support. This position generally requires supervision and guidance. This position normally works on current technologies and platforms of limited scope. Their contribution shall be primarily internal to the company. They can be recognized as a technical team member on projects or in technical initiatives. A Member of Technical Staff (MTS) is an entry level technical position within the Technical Title Plan that requires you to have technical skills or knowledge, but has little to no relevant experience. You will have or be capable of supporting technical initiatives within a larger technical project through technical assessment, standards, certification planning and execution of infrastructure and services that use network and system technologies.
As a Member of Technical Staff you must have a Bachelor's degree in an approved field from an accredited university as listed below:

Mathematics Mechanical Engineering
Metallurgical Engineering Operations Research
Physics Software Engineering

Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide lab support and work on current technologies and platforms of limited scope

This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T's compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.

Required Qualifications -
  • Entry into this title requires Technical Title Plan (TTP) Board Approval
  • A MTS candidate shall have a Bachelor's degree in an approved field from an accredited university as listed in the job description above
  • Relative experience with networks, network protocols, and IP networks as well as an understanding of security technology in the areas of VPN, firewalls, proxy, and ids/ips
  • Knowledge and background of IP related protocols involving TCP and UDP
  • Knowledge of programming in UNIX/LINUX environment using Shell, Perl, C, and C++
  • Screening, A/V, Content filtering
  • Must have a strong communication skills both verbally and written as well as analytical and problem solving skills
Desired Qualifications -
  • CISSP and/or CCNA certification
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure security systems/services/protocols
  • High end Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet experience
