Job Description

Location: Austin, Texas

Position will require a skilled technical professional with knowledge of core technologies including Networking, Applications and multi-OS. Additionally, position will need familiarity with Cloud/virtualization, messaging, database and collaboration solutions and associated infrastructure. The candidate accountable for working with current technical staff to assume support of current enterprise computing solutions as required. Candidate will be expected to manage the scope of responsibilities associated with the architecture, implementation and support of current and new solutions. They must stay current with evolving technologies and their relevance as integrated solutions to meet business goals or present new opportunities. They must have strong communication skills and interpersonal skills; capable of working with and presenting to all levels of management.


- Responsibilities include supporting the secure and reliable operation of all critical technologies across multiple technologies (including: Virtualization, Cloud Computing, WAN/LAN, DNS, Messaging, Data, Web, Application, multi-OS, SAN (Fibre/iSCSI), Back Office and Backup Systems), departments and vendors to deliver end-to-end innovative and enterprise solutions and services. Provide critical knowledge and decisions for the successful management the on-going operations of a secure enterprise computing infrastructure.

- Analyze and resolve technical issues across a broad range of technologies in association with services and solutions provided; includes all components of the computing infrastructure and network/communication elements.

- Define, communicate and implement enterprise technology solutions as defined within business strategies which includes infrastructures for web based applications, databases (SQL/Oracle), SAN, Cloud/Virtualization, Multi-OS and back office applications.

- Network/Systems architectures - generate conceptual, logical, and physical solutions and associated documents and drawings, testing analysis, test plans, and risk assessments to ensure sound architecture.

This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T's compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.

Required Qualifications -

Minimum bachelors degree in Computer Science
A MTS candidate shall have a Bachelor's degree in an approved field from an accredited university as listed in the job description above

Experience in the design and management of complex IT networks, with preference for someone with course or practical work in SDN, software development, and virtualization technologies whether through demonstrated coursework or internships.

Understanding of Linux (RedHat), UNIX (Solaris) and AD (Windows2008R2) networking and back office solutions.

Understanding of Linux layer 2 and 3 networking internals

Understanding the design, operations and support of Enterprise Computing and Cloud Computing solutions including VMware and Hyper V.
