About the Aspen Institute: The Aspen Institute is an educational and policy studies organization based in Washington, DC. Its mission is to foster leadership based on enduring values and to provide a nonpartisan venue for dealing with important social issues.

About the Position: We are looking for someone passionate about our mission. You will gain many skills around building a movement and assist in coordination and execution of our largest event, Weave the People, this May. You will support planning, communications, and outreach to those in our network. You will also have the opportunity to be exposed to other Aspen programs and internal development opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The internship will involve these activities and others, as assigned:

* Assisting in managing logistics for our Weave the People event. This includes guest registration, communications, and on the ground support.
* Database and Administrative Support:
* Updating information in our CRM database, supporting all staff with a variety of administrative needs relevant to the program.
* Communications Support:
* Assisting all aspects of program communication. Including drafting and publishing posts on social media channels, assistance in monthly newsletter publication, and website maintenance.
* Special Projects Support:
* These tasks include assistance in the hiring process, digital graphic creation, and more.

Knowledge, Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and/or attributes:

* Demonstrated interest in our mission.
* Strong writing skills and knowledge of tracking people and conversations on social media .
* Daily habit of following news and cultural trends.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
* Solid administrative skills.
* Solid research skills.
* Ability to multi-task and pivot to new tasks quickly.
* Ability to work well independently and with others.
* Awareness, sensitivity and ability to build relationships with people of all backgrounds, income levels and communications skills.
* Knowledge of the WordPress platform is a plus.
* Salesforce database experience is a plus.
