We Are Hiring

Respiratory Therapist Preceptor (RRT) -- Full-Time, Days, 35 Hours per week -- Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital -- Rochester,MI

Shift/Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM. Every third weekend. Rotating holidays.

What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital, you will have the opportunity to provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.

Responsibilities:

* Assesses patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
* Implements and monitors patient care plan. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition. Performs advanced respiratory care modalities.
* Evaluates respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcomes.
* Educates the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.

As Preceptor, You Will:

* Coordinate with the schools to schedule students for their clinical rotations
* Work with students one-on-one
* Attend two off-site meetings per year

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

* Required Credential(s):
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire/transfer date required.
* Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through National Board for Respiratory Care at time of hire/transfer date required.
* Current licensure from the state of Michigan as a Respiratory Therapist at time of hire/transfer date required.


* Preferred Credential(s):
* ACLS preferred.
* Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification preferred.



Education:

* Associate Degree
* Graduate of an CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program leading to a minimum of an Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required



Work Experience:

* Five years of experience highly preferred for this preceptor role
