Arnot Health - St. Joseph's Hospital - Elmira, New York

Job Summary:

RN renders nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, spiritual, and social needs of the patients. RN is responsible for patient assessments, care, and nursing interventions in accordance with physician orders. RN is responsible for starting IV's, administering medication, and administering blood. RN must properly documentation of all patient care. RN follows all Hospital procedures and regulations, including EMTALA.

The emergency department serves all patients who present at the ER. Facility may serve individuals from birth to 100+ years of age.

This position is for an RN that will act as Unit Educator for the ED and Mixed Medical units. Staff Nurse responsibilities may also be assigned.

Education Requirements:

Graduate of an approved RN program and current New York State RN license (or ability to obtain if licensed in other state). Advanced degree (BSN) in nursing preferred. Current CPR/BLS certification required.

Experience Requirements:

Minimum of one year of RN experience required. Prior critical care and telemetry experience preferred. Current ACLS certification preferred, or must be obtained within six months.
