Job Description

Armstrong Flooring is actively recruiting for a Talent Management Specialist to join our HR team.  This role has responsibility for the technology and processes necessary to execute performance, succession, learning management, and Employee Engagement Survey. This role will also provide support for communications, program design, and facilitation for select talent development solutions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


Performance Management (35%)

  • Subject matter expert (SME), administrator and escalation point on system administration and functionality for SuccessFactors/Global Performance System (GPS) including Performance Management and Succession Planning modules
    • Track system issues and enhancement requests for review/resolution by technical teams
    • Respond to system inquiries, troubleshoot issues, provide ongoing technical and user support
    • Project lead for system upgrades and fixes
    • Create and maintain standard operating procedures, workflow diagrams, and training materials
    • SME and trainer for global organization
    • Liaise with IT on SAP integration needs
    • Generate metrics and completion reports at each stage of the performance management cycle
  • Assist with the creation and facilitation of performance management resources and training for employees and managers
  • Evaluate and improve the GPS modules, platforms and related processes (i.e. employee profiles, goals, competencies, succession planning, calibration, and reporting, etc) with input from HR & the business
  • Serve as project lead for the redesign and simplification of the performance management system and related processes


Learning Management (25%)

  • SME, administrator and escalation point on system administration and functionality for our learning management platform, Relias
  • Manage relationship with external vendors and ensure proper integration with external content and our systems
  • Review training courses, materials, and documentation insuring alignment to targeted business needs
  • Manage all online and instructor led data within the system
  • Assess and recommend new online courses to meet business requirements
  • Build framework, upload & format course content, and develop assessments for internal required training
  • Assign required training, monitor completion and provide reports to content owners
  • Project lead for evaluating, recommending alternatives and executing system enhancement or replacement
  • Design and deploy online learning modules


Talent Development (30%)

  • Support leadership and employee assessment tools:  DISC, 360, etc.
  • Support the development of career path and progression models
  • Support the communications, tracking and reporting of the Employee Engagement Survey
  • Track the Tuition Assistance Program applications, approvals and spending vs budget; update and communicate policy changes and recommend improvements to program and process
  • Own New Employee Orientation program at the Lancaster Campus
  • Coordinate and serve as a facilitator for the New Manager Essentials program
  • Deliver or support other instructor-led training sessions for employee or leadership development
  • Track HR development activity and spend


Other (10%)

  • Provide reporting and analysis required to understand and improve our Talent Management and other HR processes (standard reporting, turnover data, adhoc requests, etc.)
  • Maintain current performance management, Learning, and Talent Development resources on the employee portal, the Corkboard


Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Human Resources, Organization Development, Training and Development, Business, or Information Technology.
  • Minimum 2+ years in one or more HR capacities (eg. L&D, generalist, specialist, recruiter, HRIS, comp/ben)
  • Strong system skills with experience in HR processes and technologies
  • Project management skills with the ability to handle & deliver multiple projects within targeted deadlines



  • Previous learning & development experience including training certification (eg. DDI, DISC, etc.)

  • Experience with captivate or articulate authoring tools.
