Job Description

 

 

Armstrong World Industries (AWI) has a job opportunity for an Architectural Specialties Pricing and Operations Manager to be located in Lancaster, PA. The Architectural Specialties Pricing and Operations Manager will be actively involved in overseeing the Order Preparation department, processing custom and premium orders, reporting on margin structure and sales, and ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership to direct reports and cross-functional partners. The Architectural Specialties Pricing and Operations Manager will be responsible for customer and supplier communication, and the development, execution, and process improvement of Architectural Specialties (AS) pricing tools.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Architectural Specialties Pricing and Operations Manager:

  • Working with the New Product Development team and the VP of Architectural Specialties to ensure pricing tools and documented order processes are in place for new product launches with the correct targeted margin structure
  • Work with Director of Operations to establish a strong internal Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process for all manufacturing
  • Driving improved efficiency and effectiveness of the Order Preparation department and cross-functional effectiveness with Project Managers and the CAD department
  • Quality review of CAD shop drawings through the Order Preparation process before they are released to manufacturing
  • Directly managing and increasing the efficiency of the AS order process to customer satisfaction
  • Establishing and managing a Project Coordinator dashboard that balances workloads and improves service
  • Enhancing cost position through the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process on all significant pieces of work by collaborating with vendors once a project purchase order has been received
  • Meeting regularly with the Director of Operations to ensure organizational alignment and effectiveness
  • Participating in monthly assessments and forecasting financial performance with regards to budget
  • Acting as the functional expert for operational excellence
  • Managing AS pricing tools to accurately produce quotes in accordance with margin guidelines
  • Establishing and managing a review process for supplier costing
  • Overseeing and reporting monthly on margin structure and supplier sales
  • Interacting with all suppliers to improve service and cost
  • Direct supervision of 11 employees (Project Coordinators, Order Prep)
  • Operational coordination with 5 Project Managers and CAD department.

 

 

Required Qualifications for the Architectural Specialties Pricing and Operations Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus relavant experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a high paced working environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong general mathematical ability

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the construction process
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Experience with Product Configurator
