About the role

We are seeking highly motivated graduates to join our CPU group. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the CPU team to contribute to the specification, design and verification of the next generation of ARM microprocessors.

As a CPU development engineer, you will be part of a small and talented Chandler-based CPU design team where you can make a significant contribution. You will contribute to one of more of the following areas of CPU development including: performance modeling, design, and verification.

Job Purpose

The CPU group develops low power, high performance microprocessors that address various market segments in the industry. The Graduate CPU Design & Verification Engineer will work on the development of ARM's microprocessors, utilizing the latest design & verification methodologies and advanced CPU development capabilities.

What will I be accountable for?

CPU Design & Verification engineers have responsibilities in one or more of the following areas:

* CPU Micro-architecture specification and design
* Verilog / System Verilog RTL logic design and debug
* Performance modelling, benchmarking, and analysis of our next generation CPU's
* Development of SystemVerilog UVM testbenches for block-level functional verification of the CPU pipeline and memory system
* Development of detailed verification plans for the processor block/unit
* Generating and running testcases on logic simulation models
* Debugging and correcting functional errors in the RTL model, using simulation & debug tools
* Defining and implementing functional coverage, and enhancing the testbench to ensure coverage closure

Job Requirements

What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?


* Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with a 3.5+ GPA

Technical Attributes

Ideal applicants would have experience or exposure in the following areas:

* CPU microarchitecture knowledge (out-of-order execution, register renaming, reservation stations, processor pipelines, etc.)
* Experience in functional debug of errors in the RTL model
* Experience in the specification, creation, and debug of SystemVerilog/UVM constrained-random testbenches
* Good software engineering skills including understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
* Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Tcl, Python
* Assembly language for ARM or other architectures
