Arkema is seeking for a Human Resources Generalist / Payroll Administrator to provide human resources support to the Birdsboro Plant. The Human Resources Generalist / Payroll Administrator is responsible for office administration to the Plant Manager, human resources support to the Human Resources Manager.  This position is also responsible for the processing of salaried and union hourly payroll, recruitment and onboarding.  The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR law.

 

Activities:

  • Processes bi-weekly payroll for hourly and non-exempt staff, payroll system administration
  • Maintains HR data in SAP HRMS, completes all E-forms, site vacation tracker
  • Provides administration of Disability / FMLA cases and coordinates return to work process with HES
  • Handles all primary visitor interface, phones, visitor safety video and incoming/outgoing mail and packages
  • Handles daily employee relations; serves as first point of contact to support offsite Regional HR Manager.
  • Performs HR support duties: coordination of interviews, background checks, orientation/training schedules, etc.
  • Maintains compliance with management of HR / training documents and files. This includes tracking, managing and coordinating employee relations forms (discipline, grievances, attendance)
  • Handles the coordination of community relations events and programs
  • Serves as plant LMS administrator; by maintaining employee training assignments
  • Site Document Control Coordinator
  • Coordinates annual physicals and random testing programs
  • Assists site personnel with the employee benefits programs (i.e. Annual Open Enrollment; Wellness Program, etc.)
  • Organizes events and meetings and manages respective budgets.
  • Provides administrative support to department managers as needed
  • Maintains office supply inventory
  • Data entry of safey observations
  • Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications / experience required:

 

  • Direct experience in employee relations, labor relations, or labor/employment law with an emphasis on labor and employee relations work

  • Experience in manufacturing and working in unionized settings a significant plus

  • Bachelor’s degree required     

  • Solid understanding of recruitment

  • Technically proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint

  • Experience  in Payroll processing preferred
  • Excellent MS Office skills; SAP and Kronos preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Team player with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to handle confidential information in a mature and professional manner
  • Highly analytical thinker and problem solver
  • Proven attention to detail; extremely organized
  • Acts with sense of urgency, bias for action, fast pace environment
  • High-quality judgment and sound decision-making
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks
