This position is based at the Coatex facility located in Chester, South Carolina.  Coatex is a subsidiary of Arkema Inc. 


The Business Manager defines the pricing policy in his/her activity, represents the company with

distributors and customers, understands their requirements, develops sales and paves the way for the future by maintaining consistency between market needs and products in the scope of the sales strategy.



  • The Business Manager applies the sales policy defined by Management.
  • Supervises and develops sales in the NAFTA Region - USA, Canada and Mexico.
  • Oversees external relations (customers, distributors) and internal relations (laboratories, finances, Supply Chain) and ensures regular reporting.
  • Analyzes market needs and proposes development strategies (products, distribution networks).
  • Selects, develops and supervises distributors and service companies and is involved in their training.
  • Is fully aware of Coatex expertise and is a bridge between external customers and internal departments (R&D, Supply Chain, etc.) for all market information (sales potentials, specific conditions, etc.).
  • Participates in specific agreement negotiation
  • Visits major customers possibly with distributors.
  • Works with sales assistants
  • Understand plant environmental health and safety regulations and comply with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Training

  • Chemical engineer or engineering degree in chemistry or paper engineering
  • Fluent in English. Some French and Spanish.
  • Good computer skills
  • Possible additional training: specialization in trade negotiation, problem solving, marketing,



Technical/Organizational Skills

  • Trade negotiation skills.
  • Sales on distributors' premises.
  • Full knowledge of Coatex products and expertise.
  • International experience: legislation and conduct abroad.
  • Able to understand and anticipate market needs.
